1.7 shot types

Research and Planning 1.5 - storyboards

2.2 major problems occur

We set up a date for filming with the band, however the day before filming was scheduled to start they had to cancel due to members having other commitments this being their jobs, this put us behind but we took it in stride.

Then something even worse occured the band had parted ways with their lead vocalist, this left the band and us in a sticky situation, we spoke to the band and tehy apologised and said that they didnt want to leave us without anything so agreed to help us out with just the four members, we arranged dates, booked the theatre and lighting and were ready to film, we got to the theatre and recieved a phone call from the band explaining that due to a contract which the band signed a week before the lead singer left had, had left them with no rights to the music which the singer had written or performed in, meaning that they could not perform the song without their singer.

2.1 video idea

Media Practical: Music Video

Band: The Living Daylights

Song: Maps

Idea 1: Performance: Band PlavinR A Show.

A person rings his friend informing him of the living daylights playing a show, friend confirms he will

be corning, they walk to show, go through the corridors of the venue with camera following them,

walk through double doors, doors shut and camera stays in place showing a show flyer "the living

daylights emblazoned across the top in bold writing" the camera then cuts to the bands instruments

stationary being un-played no members insight, shows that the band actually plays instruments,

i pans through them all, the music kicks in and the camera cuts to the band fast cut montage type

't: shots through the band playing, close ups of snare drum hits bass pedal, fret board, strumming

, guitar, and medium and long shots of the band playing together, as well as fast cut shots of the

crowd dancing, these shots then slow down to the intro build up, with a steady pan of the

surroundings and high angle shots show crowd and band together almost as if they were one giant

entity, when the verse starts the fast cuts start again, when pre-chorus starts close up shots of

vocalist, when chorus starts again so does the fast cuts lots of high angle shots, shots of crowd, and

shots of the crowd from within showing energy, 2"d verse starts with fast cuts, and then pan shots

and tracking shots, when t comes towards the end of the 2nd verse, slow tracking shots when it

comes to section "hope to god it won't get old" fast cut to crowd when they shout back "it won't get

old", the next chorus consist of more tracking shots and fast cuts, the video ends with the band all"

stationary looking happy with themselves they've played a good show.

2.0 report on how we found band

we found our artist through the local music scene they are a prominent band within the Lincoln

music scene, the genre of music is punk, more specifically its melodic punk, this is a mixture of

traditional punk music and modern punk music which uses more melody within the singing and the

guitars and has less of the hardcore thrash feeling form the 80's, the target audience of the band is

16-25 year olds of both genders, and for those who like lyrics with meaning or lyrics which people

can identify their selfs with, this can be shown by the turnout to their shows which consists of

young teenagers and 20 year olds.

Research and planning: 1.2 Digipak and Poster analysis

this digipak uses a two fold style with the cd on the 2nd panel this is good because it allows for lots of information to be displayed on the digipac the colours are consistent red and white and black, the image of blood in a hand also stays with the conventions of red and black.

this uses a two panel layout, it has a punk feel to it and sticks to the conventions and forms of a standard punk style digipak

this style is like the first one it is a 3 panel layout its quites simplistic and uses simple brown colours and limited images.

this advert for a album, is simple and uses the contrasting colours of the woman in black and white and the apple and the rest of the picture in red, the font is smooth and rounded giving a subtle feel that shows the genre and overall feel that the band wish to portray.

this once again has contrasting colours with the black and white picture and font with the large bright red contrast of the bands names, this time the title font is more rugged and it shows how the band wish to portray themselfs the way the contrast and brightness of the band members makes it look like they are a cartoon, with the flat white vector graphics.
